Why do SMS collections display IP and Netbios names

I have SMS 2.0 installed on Win2k server and in the default collection (All Windows NT workstations) it displays IP address as well as Netbios names. Example

D-120.120.12.5
D-120.120.12.6
D-120.120.12.6
Purgatory
Washington
Melbourne

The D- IP addresses are supplied by the DHCP server, but the computers with Netbios names also have addresses assigned by the Dhcp server.
