I recently changed my root password. However, in addition to the new password, the old password is continuing to work. Has anyone seen this before? I haven't tried to change it again and just see if it was a fluke, because I want to know why it happened. I wouldn't have noticed it had I not forgotten that the passwords had changed. AIX 4.3.3 on an SP node's CWS. Any ideas??

Thanks!

Tom

Hi

When you change your Password on a SP-Node, the Supper Daemon will Overwrite your Password every Hour with the Password that is on the CWS set !

-> Change the Password on the CWS, and wait one Hour, or execute:
dsh -av /var/sysman/supper update

Salve
