Hi

Using CR9 Advanced; CE9 Standard

When I run the report using CR9 Advanced, the format is fine, however when I use CE9 Standard (via ePortfolio) I loose some format. Particlularly borders, lines and some chart bars.

Is this a problem with my internet settings. Any advice?

I have only recenlty installed CR9 Adv and CE9 Std, so we are very much still in testing phase, but time before roll-out is limited.

Regards,
EO

This could be due to the printer setttings on the CE Server. We had a similar problem on ce8.5

This is going to sound DAFT, but I simply installed CE9 Std, this obviously defaulted to the standard Report Viewer (which according to my knowledge is the DHTML viewer). We have always used ActiveX with revious versions of CR....
Could this be causeing the problem?

The viewer shouldn't cause this problem. The main reason for loss of format is the printer configuration is different to the configuration on the machine where the report was created.

You are right in your thinking that the DHTML viewer is the default.

Pardon my ignorance, but I am fairly new to this. How do I correct this? The dealuth printer for the report, and the default printer on the server is exactly the same printer.

I have noticed that the DHTML viewer doesn't not always render things exactly right - e.g. legend in a chart is wrong size or in wrong position, background colours on cells are slightly overlapping the cell borders, vertical text is horizontal(!!!)
Have other people experienced the same and is there a fix?

The physical printer may be the same, but different profiles have different setups for each printer.

I am assuming your printer is networked here. Things like paper types, page sizes, etc. Just standard properties in your printer for each profile.

Not sure exactly which account the printing will run under from ePortfolio. I think it will be the Page server.

I don't even get to the point of printing before I am seeing problems. I have vertical text which looks fine in crystal but in the viewer it comes out horizontal. I am using the default viewer.
Any suggestions? THanks!!

Hi,
Switch to ActiveX or Java and see what happens..The DHTML viewer ( at least pre v9) was not very good and formatting.
