I have a residential gateway with virtual servers configured. Port 80 goes to IP 192.168.1.3 which runs Apache. If I try to reach my local webserver from my other computer by using its Internet URL (mysite.dyndns.org) it can't be found. I am able to reach it, however, if I use its local IP, 192.168.1.3.

I just got rid of an old D-Link gateway which allowed such communcations. For some reason, even though external computers can see Apache, virtual servers won't allow local clients to see local servers.

Any ideas? :) Thanks for reading.

If I understand this correctly I don't think that you can use the internet URL inside the LAN. I have an IIS server setup on an XP machine and can reach it with the LAN IP - 192.168.1.11 or the computer name - but not the URL - I have to be outside to do that.
