Hi All,

I have come across a bit of a problem.

I am creating the site at if I go to this homepage on any PC other than the one I did the creation of the graphics and html on then I can seee the page fine, it has a side bar menu, a frame for the inclusion of my blog and a banner graphic.

If I access the URL via the machine I did the work on I get none of the graphics, (They are GIF's or JPG's, nothing fancy and no animations). I don't even get placeholders for the missing images, just blank white space. I can see the sidebar text and the blog entry.

If I use the development machine to access the homepage and then chose view->source from the menu I see a strange thing...

...preceeding each "<img src=...." statement (which would usually tell the browser where to go look for the image to be displayed) is "!--" so on the developer machine the statement looks like "<!-- img src=..." and I know that the "!--" bit acts to comment out the following statement. but WHY has it appeared ?

..I checked on another machine, accessing exactly the same page, exactly the same way (all be it via Win 98 and an earlier version of IE) and it displays fine, the "!--" is no longer in the source statement..

If I use the design (or any other) machine to access the site via ftp then I can get to a list of all the files and directories and can view each page by double clicking it and presenting it in a new browser window, via this method each page loads as I would expect it to (i.e. with images).

I am using IE version 6.0.2600 on an XP machine.

BTW: I've tried forcing a refresh and that doesn't help.

help...........my head hurts

cheers

Ochi

You may be looking at a cached version of your site. Try another browser or delete your temporary internet files (if using IE)

Delete temporary internet files (IE > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files), and then browse the page again, maybe this works!

i found that my post was similar with WizyWyg after submission. SORRY!
