Why can't I log on to IM with my clients

I setup IM on E2K all looks well. When I try to connect from a client it tells me that my user does not have permission to use the specified email address does anyone have any idea why this is happening???

Right click on Internet exploer
go to connections
to to prox settings advance
and type in your domain.
