Hi all:

I was wondering if anyone knows why I can VPN into my Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server (running Citrix Metaframe) from some windows 98 desktops but not from others. I was recently on a trip overseas, and from two different cities I tried to VPN, In one city VPN worked just fine, In another city, using a different computer running Windows 98 as well, I couldn't get through. Both times I set up the client side of the configuration the same. Any ideas?

Thanks

The ISP you were going through isn't allowing VPN traffic (IPSEC)to go through.

Thanks:

Good Idea, but I was wondering why an ISP in for (example) a major metropolitan area like Denver would Block IPSEC? Any chance that the problem lies somewhere in the make-up of Windows 98?, or is version specific?

I am having similar problems, but VPN through my watchguard 700. Dialed up from office, no problem (testing)but boss can't (DSL) I go home (Cable) no problem. Boss goes to London, same problems. Found configuration problem with Watchguard (public IP's vs private), now dial up test fails, but home access is still good, boss still can't access resouces (can authenticate though).

I burned up one support ticket on it, now I'm burned up. The DI from PI

You only get three support tickets, when the support tech VPN'd in and was able to access everything he closed the ticket. I sent a email and said that it still wasn;t fixed, they said becuse it was resolved over the phone the support ticket is closed and I would have to open a new one. Really burned me up. Call them and imedaitely push for a manager because that is BS! Now I am getting mad!

Be sure to tell them that there is a thread here about this because the do NOT want bad publicity and it will be well worth it for them to just GIVE your another ticket if they need to in order to reopen it.

They did, gave me a free ticket. They say it's because of XP, but that can't be right because I have no problem, tried XP on a dial up no problem, after fix, doesn't work.
