I've selected the Auto Flow option in the menu bar but when I cut and paste text from MS Word to PageMaker v6.0, the text would flow straight down pass the column margin without flowing to the second column. The red arrow at the bottom of the column would have a + sign in it and if I drag it down, more text would display but again, it would not flow to the next column.

What do I need to do for it to flow automatically?

Thanks,

Hi

when you copy text from another program or another file the autoflow will not work.
Just paste the text, click the red +sign at the end of the text, go to the following colum and let your text flow, now the text will autoflow.

I clicked on the red + sign and drag it to the second column and released the left mouse button but the text did not flow to the second column. Is there something else I can try?

Thanks,

Hi.

I think problem is in those strange Word styles.

1. Place the text in first column.
2. Select All (Command+A) (Ctrl+A on PC).
3. Apply Body Text.

hi

On an apple computer when you selected the red arrow youir cursor woulkd change to the text place cursor, if you hold down the apple key when placing the second column, the cursor changes to an arrow that has the autoflow option.
So I would suggest to do the same thing if you are working on a pc, but before placing the text try one of the shift, ctrl or option keys, if you see your cursor change to the above mentioned, autoflow will work
