Hi everyone! We are using Microsoft Exchange 2000 on our server and Outlook 2000 as our client e-mail software. I am having a problem with attachments not being sent with the e-mails to some people. I know that I am not blocking the file type at the Exchange server. I have tried using all three different mail formats (plain text, rich test, and html) with no success. I can send the e-mail to someone else outside of HQ's and they can send it to the person that I was trying to send it to and they receive it just fine. I need some ideas on how to fix this problem wether it be on the client or the server. Thanks for any input you can give me.

hmmm - these situations are notoriously difficult to diagnose.

Have you tried seeing if the files inadvertantly include macros?

We had an ongoing issue where people were sending files with macros in them, and the virus protection on the receiving side was stripping them off.

Make sure you check not only under tools/macros, but also in the VBA module correcsponding to the file (by hitting alt f11 if sending msoffice files) to see if someone accidently saved some text to the modules. Some mail servers could be potentially identifiying them as malicious code and stripping off the attachment. How much more water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?
