why apache module gone?

I have mod_header installed when I compiled apache, later I installed mod_perl, after I replaced old httpd with new one, I found mod_header is gone, what could be the reason?

Sounds like you compiled from scratch or did make clean before compiling the new version. If you didn't compile with mod_header the second time, it won't get included.
