Howdy all, I've now been charged with supporting a Mac and, being from a windows environment, thy learning curve is steep!

Anyway it's a mac book pro (intel chip) that had 10.4.8 OS X on it and I have now updated it to 10.4.9 (rather painless I must admit). My question is "What animal is it now?"

Panther? Tiger? Leopard? Is there a link that explains what each version is? It makes it easier when I'm researching "How to's" on the web.

-Cheers

Mac OS X 10.0 (Cheetah)
Mac OS X 10.1 (Puma)
Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar)
Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)
Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

So your Mac is using Tiger (my Mac is using MacOS 9.1 code named Fortissimo)

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

On Apple's web site, if you select the Support tab and search on OS X there are usually articles that are published that outline the 10.X.X updates and what they "fix".

Also check out the web site: macfixit.com they cover lots of stuff also.

Happy researching!
