Hi,

When performing an installation of SQL Server, is there a preferred "owner" of the installation? For example, my personal windows login is domain account with local admin privileges on the target server.

However, I am not sure if I should be doing the installation under my personal login, even though I am able to do so. It seems that issues of ownership might arise.

I know that the database is owned by the login doing the installation, but are there any other issues?

Thanks

There are no issues with installing SQL when logged in as your self. I do it all the time. The system databases are all owned by sa by default. User databases are by default owner by the user which creates them.

Just make sure that the services are setup to run as the SQL Account (or local account if you are going that route) and you'll be fine.
