On Friday I modified some local hostname/domainname stuff on my RHEL3.x system. I came in this morning and apache wasn't running. I tried starting it manually, wouldn't start. Looked in the logs, and the problem was related to the changes I'd made on Friday--so I fixed it and it's running again. So, next, I wanted to find out what prompted apache to stop running in the first place, and I found in the logs that on Sunday apache was sent a SIGHUP and that's when it tried to restart and failed because of the aforementioned problem. What I don't understand is why this happened. There's only three other people that have access to this box and it is extremely unlikely that any of them would have even logged into the thing, much less been able to do that. It must have been some automated process or something. I also see that exactly seven days prior the same thing happened. There are no cron jobs that I can find. What process is doing this??
Thanks.
Thanks.
