If you run mqseries, what permissions do you have on:

/var/mqm/errors

/var/mqm/qmgrs

I'm in charge of ww file permissions for SOX reviews, and I can't figure out why these are world writeable. I found some IBM documents online, they have these as world writeable. Any ideas?

Hi,

We got MQM here, and I can confirm that these file systems are indeed world writable. I guess they need to be so cause processes owned by other users (not mqm) need to write to them... what processes? don't ask..

Thanks....

I still don't understand it though. :)
