To answer the much-deabted question of who is using which browser (or possibly to add more fuel to the fire), here's one days browser stats from webrefernce.com (

Uhh... exactly where has anyone seen Netscape5, and Netscape8?

And can you believe there are people still using IE 1? That has to be the worst browser ever written.

If you gave an infinate number of rednecks, an infinate number of shotguns to shoot at an infinate number of street signs, they would eventually write Romeo and Juliet in braille.

I have no idea where those version came from, but there must be something, somewhere that says it's Netscape v5 or v8. Maybe the programmers at Netscape are using intermediate versions of the browser, and going to webreference.com to try to learn how to write javascript. Tracy Dryden

Apparently, the developers at NS were developing the code for v5, and then when it got pushed back and renamed 6, they forgot to change that. I had a beta of 6.0 that returned 5.0 on a client-side test. The release version says 6 now... that guy's still using a beta...

I guess since there is not NSv7 listed but there IS a NSv8 that we can expect the release of version 7 to be pushed back and renamed too? At least it appears they're planning ahead...
