Hello Everyone,

I am using Crystal Enterprise version 10. We have 10 concurrent licenses and, as you can imagine, that is not enough for our 200+ users. We are in the process of getting a processor license, but I am wondering if there is any way that I can tell WHO is using each of the 10 licenses at any given time. Our users login to ePortfolio and one thing I plan on changing is the "Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed" setting for the Crystal Report Application Server probably from 30 minutes to 5 minutes. Can anyone offer any help or advice?

Thank You!

Go to servers in CMC and click on APS / CMS server metrics and you can see users logged on to the system.

Under servers in the CMC, I have CMS but not APS. When I click on CMS I see the properties tab and that tells me that there are 8 sessions in use, but not what users are using the sessions. When I click on metrics, I see no information regarding sessions or users.

Does it not say something:
secEnterprise:Administrator
secEnterprise:User1
etc.....

under User Name in CMS Properties....

Are you using the Professional or the Premium Version?
If you are using the Professional version, did you purchase the Auditor add-On?

If you are using the Pro version with the Auditor Add-on or the Premium Version you can:

1. Enable auditing
2. Install the sample reports

There are several helpfull reports including one for number of logons per hour showing you the user names, etc.

techie2,

Oh, I see what you mean now. But it says this:
secEnterprise:Administrator has 8 sessions which I know cannot be possible. Is there a way that sessions can be "killed"?

GDARINO,

We are using Premium and we have the auditor add-on. Hmm..how do I install the sample reports?

Starting CMS will release all the sessions. I dont know if you can do that, if this is production environment.

The sample reports are located in the CD. Page 339 of the Crystal Enterprise Administrator's Guide has instructions on how to use the sample audit reports. You can publish them to CE or use them with Crystal.

Note: You will need to crate an audit DB and enable auditing on the corresponding servers in order to caputure information.

The information on Creating an Audit DB and enabling audit starts on page 330 of the Admin Guide.
