Hi.. can any body help who could be the better MTS Administrator? a COM developer or the Network Administrator? please help me?

It depends on the environment. In a development environment, the COM developer is fine. In a production environment, a network admin should be the one to administer MTS.

Problem is, in most companies the "network admins" are simple box jockeys and "can't handle the truth."

This is becoming a curse in Microsoft shops. Good luck figuring out how to handle this.

In my own opinion Microsoft needs to do something about this - such as raising the bar for certification to require some real skills, rather than memorization of myriad details of how to set up networking. In the days when the only servers were file or print servers these guys got by just fine. Not any longer.

I can't remember how many times I've come in to a company and had the "administrators" blanch when requested to set up a system DSN, let alone deal with MTS package definition. Usually they just log the server on as "administrator" and tell me to do what I need to do - over their shoulders as they flee the server room.

Most of these guys seem to be recycled mainframe terminal monkeys or somebody's nephew.
