I am using NT4.0 servers. I used to manage them from a NT 4.0 workstation. If I needed to see who had a file open on a server, I could use the old Windows File Manager (winfile.exe) to navigate to the file, select it, and click File>Properties>Open By to see who had it open.

I am now using a full install of Win 2K and I no longer have the File Mangler. Does anyone know of a GUI based method to see who has a file open on a server? Server Manager is unacceptable, because it shows everything and the full path cannot be displayed. I have a batch file called Whoopened.bat I downloaded and adapted from <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> but to use that you need to type in the full path to the file using the server's physical drive letters and folder names. It doesn't work through shares, mapped drives, etc. A GUI tool would be better.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most ...
