who do you type realitive paths for _level0

how would you make this realitive?

_root.mainfrmaeMC.....

don't work?

I'm using a tab key catcher to tab from one input text field to another and I want the whole mainframeMC to be relitive reguardless of what movie I insert it into with loadmovie?

any ideas jef

If you want to keep everything relative use_parent to go up a level. So if you were in a movieclip on the main timeline a clip on the _root level would be reached by:

_parent.myClip

If you were in a clip in a clip on the main timeline the relative path to a clip on the main timelien would be:

_parent._parent.myClip

Tried that, no luck

the code is placing a set of text field in an array and I can't reference the field unless the I use the absolute path _level0.mainframeMC.......so strange

I'm embeding this movie in another movie so I have to change the path

to _level0.firstMC.secondMC.mainframeMC...and so on

any idea why
