whnevr i start a cold boot, windows dtected the mouse but dnt work

culd sombdy pls hlp me..? i hav dis ps2 mouse, d problm is it dosn't work. i remember d last thing iv done is, i chnge d battery of the CPU bcoz d clock is always stopping and needed to b reset all the time. By d time i started and reload again windows98 2ndE, the mouse pointer dsnt respond whenvr i use it. i have to remove and refresh the mouse over the Device Manager to enable it again...! what happened and what can i do to get it back in working properly.???

yah i even chnged another mouse to verify if its d mouse hu has d problm but d same scenario happens evn if i replace it... wat culd be d problm der......?
