white text over black box / trapping?

I just started to make a switch. I successfully opened a Quark file into InDesign which contains areas of black with white type. I have not been able to figure out a fix. Any help?

...a fix for what? Can you define your problem? What do you need trapping for white text on black background for?

When printing the white text is not present - the background is black plus the are in which the text is supose to be. I have successfully printed this original file from Quark.

This would happen if the black is set to overprint.
