What are your laptop's specs?

Sounds like you've got a few defective pixels on the screen, where the pixels are "always on". There's really nothing you can do about it as a replacement laptop screen, if available, on a 600MHz laptop is just not cost effective.

Yep! Dead pixels! There is an interesting article on the subject at the Tomshardware page.
They may appear after some time, and some manufacturers will refuse to repair under warranty. Think about it and read the warranty terms before put a couple of grands on a big screen LCD TV.

I have CRT Flat Panel Monitor, Brand I have CRT Flat Panel Monitor, Brand Name Samsung SyncMaster 700IFT with spots, can the this be fixed. I was cleaning it and now it's worse than before. Is there a way to remove the face off the monitor to clean it from the other side or is it damaged? Can anyone help me? I am not a tech guy, just a PC user.

apocalypsexiii:

Look at the surface from an angle, and try to ascertain if the "spots" are actually insude the glass, or pits in the surface glass. Pits can be removed (same as car windshield). If inside the glass - no repair. The surface of a CRT is "bullit-proof" glass, permantly bonded on for impact safety. This bonding can seperate (air bubbles), and cause "spots". If this is still under warranty, replace.

Hello,

I just purchased a Toshiba 20-inch lcd tv. I noticed while flipping through the channels on my digital-cable hookup before the screen advances to the next station it goes black. The blackness or emty screen doesn't concern me. What does is the fact on this empty black screen I notice that on the top, bottom and sides of the monitor is a white light creeping in from the edges. This light comes in from the edges about two inches in the shape of a semi-circle. When the screen advances to the station, I notice this same white light is notible ever so slightly on the sides. Is this something I should be concerned with? Is my tv operating normally? thanks for your help.
