before my flash movies begin to run (on page backgrounds that are black) there is a second or so in which the entire space of the flash movie turns white before the background color that i have specified to match the page color,
which is black, in flash comes up and the movie begins to run. what's up doc?

i suspect that you are not using the html produced by flash..file>publish check html.

if done this way then the html page will have the same background color as the flash movie.

my page is black. its just the flash movies that flash white before black. i have the flash in dreamweaver.

if you are using frames then click in the frames you are importing the flash to and select windows>properties...then change to black or whatever color you want.
