white screen appears b-4 Flash Player begins

I have noticed something odd that I haven't seen before, when I play my SWF in the flash player. When the player begins, a white screen appears before the swf starts playing...it appears for about 1 second..and then the movie starts.

My SWF is mostly dynamic (dynamic menu system, external swfs, dynamic alpha tweening and dynamic text boxes) and there is a preloader at the beginning. I'm don't think its because my swf is to big, I've tried to make it as lean as possible...

Is this issue common? How can I fix the problem?

at a guess its the background color.

Nope....

The background is black on the root level...so, that's not it. I checked that first.
