I understand that the cable connecting the ADSL modem to the splitter is a straight through cable connection pins 2, 3, 4 and 5 using RJ11 6 pin connectors.

My question is if you use twisted pair cable (with 4 pairs) to make this connection, what is the best way to select the wires in order to have the least attenuation and the best signal to noise ratio? Should I use one wire from each pair, or should I use only two pairs?. And if I use both wires from a pair, which wires should go to which pins?

Thanks.

Splitter? What splitter? What are you trying to do exactly?
