Howdy,
Don't know if it's the right place to post, but if I can get some feedback from a pro printer tech it would make my decision easier.
I'm a Landscape Architect that still free-draws 99% of my work. My 1997 Xerox 2515 copier is giving up the ghost, even under the light load we put it through (2500 lin'/year). I have been VERY pleased with the unit but I am drowning in drawings, I would like a scanner that archives the free-drawn master to PDF, TIFF, etc.
I have been shopping and really like the wide-format digital scanners/printers/copier from Xerox (6204) and Ricoh (Aficio 240W).
Can some tech out there share some experience that might make this decision easier? There is a "super-sale" on the Ricoh right now but I'm wondering WHY they would need to do that, but if it's a good machine I don't care.
I've played with both a little and like the Ricoh's 0-400% magnification feature, but I think I like the Xerox's feature-set better. Both seem comparable in print quality.
Can someone offer me any advice one way or the other? Much appreciated.
Tony
