Which Version? 1

Hello,

I've been trying to decide which version of .Net ramp up on there are so many and just going with the latest might not always be the wisest choice.

The contenders seem to be 2008, 2010,2013 and 2015?

Some preferred criteria:

[li]Easiest to support.[/li]
[li]Have a responsive unbloated IDE.[/li]
[li]Have a responsive unbloated run-time.[/li]
[li]Create small tools to full blown Oracle Databased solutions.[/li]
[li]Work on the most versions of Windows Desktop practical.[/li]
[/ul]

What can you suggest and most importantly why?

It is bunch of conflicting requirements.

2015: Easiest to support - the version of .net can be configured to support all previous versions
2008: Responsive IDE - it was the last one from the VS2002 line. All the later ones are written in C# and are a lot slower (noticeable when you run on a low powered machine)
Don't know about unbloated runtime
Any one can be used to create small tools
2008, 2010: can work with all versions of windows from XP to W10.
2012, 2013, 2015 will only work from W7 onwards

Could you please elaborate on that. I guess I am asking for a compelling reason to use that version over the others.
