I have a question for anyone. On IP Office installs when installing voicemail pro on a Windows server platform, which version is best to use? Windows Server 2003 Standard edition or what? It's sometimes confusing with all the different Server software platforms. For example, 2003 Web Server, 2003 Exchange, etc.

Thanks

If you want least likely to cause problems then its Windows 2000 Server.

If your voicemail is going to do just voicemail and customised callflows pick either but if your thinking IMS or VPNM or the like then the wrinkles are still being ironed out.

Server 2003 is still relatively new and the experience base on it in the SMB market is only just developing.

We have a number of sites using 2003.

It is a little more complex if you run IMS etc.

You do know there is no need for it to be on server if there is no IMS it can be XP or 2000 prof

[cheers]

Crahstest, would you be able to contact me to let me know in detail how you got IMS working on 2003?

Thx.

Are you installing on a server OS because you're going to have that server do things OTHER THAN act as a license/time/voicemail server? If not, I agree with Crashtest. We always use Windows 2000 Pro.

If you are wanting the server to do other things besides IPO features DONT!
it will just add to your headaches in the futre when you try to identify weather the cause of the problem is Avaya or some other piece of software & avaya will not touch it EVEN if it is thier software that is the problem
