Which version of Crystal to buy?

Hi, Could someone please explain to me the difference between Crystal XI and Crystal 2008/2011?
What is the latest version of Crystal?
Theire product line is simply confusing.

I'm using Crystal to modify or create reports for our finance software. This software already comes with the Crystal Reports XI R2 runtime to run it's own reports.
I just now need to be able to modify these and create my own.

The latest version is Crystal Version 2011. It was released a few months ago. Crystal 2008 has a number of nice features that are not in CR XI. However, they all all just "ease of use" enhancements and not critical to the use of the program. Since your finance application is set up for CR XI R2 you should probably buy that version since the DLL files are different.
