Which User created a folder/file

Is it possible to see which user created a file/folder on a network share on a Windows 2000 Domain? I have tried right clicking then Properties - but can only find out the Created Date/Time...

I believe that the only way to find this out would be to have 'auditing' enabled on the share/drive. This does however need to be running before the incident.

Go to the properties of the file/folder and select the Security Tab, Advanced then Owner.....this will tell you who created it.
