Hi People

I can't find the right forum to post in so I'm starting here...I'm thinking of creating a web site for myself...how do I navigate the service providers? Who's worth going with who's not? What do I need what don't I need? Who's trustable who's not? Security etc? I'm not sure which forum to post to so if someone could redirect me I'd appreciate it.
