Hello,

I have the problem, that I have adopt a Sybase Database.
I have to upgrade now Sybase, but before I do that I would like to know which Sybase version do I use, because the present version has been updated several times.

Does anyone know a Sybase command with which I can find out my Sybase version?

I tried the following script:

sybase_get_version, however, I get the following error message: ./sybase_get_version[21]: 1: parameter not set

Maybe someone can help me please!!

Thx,

Bernd

What platform are you running Sybase on?
Unix Solaris?
HP Unix
AIX etc.....

Or you can log in via isql and run
1 select @@version
2 go

Latest version of ASE is 15. We are in the process of upgrading from 11.9.2 directly to 15.
I think 11.9 is the cut-off for jumping all the way to 15
so if your version is 11.9 or higher, and your OS is supported
I'd say use 15
