Hi
Im studying for my first MCP and have chosen W2Kpro 70-210.
The book im studying from is Win 2kpro for dummies (Sadly enough)Mainly because i have always used dummies guides for everything else and find them straight to the point with less garbage.
My question is can anybody recommend me another study guide as i find this to be quite limited when it comes to doing practice questions, even the cd that comes with the book asks questions that has'nt been covered in the dummies book.

Co. Wicklow Ireland.

Have you tried using transcenders? It's a good review material for the 70-210 exam, simulations plus very good explanations. I have used the product to pass all of my win2k exams.err except for the network infra. exam. It's the most difficult exam - network infrastructure. but for the 210 it'll be a breeze.

Thanks for the reply!
i got some questions free on cdrom with the study guide and found them very good. but i can never find all the answers in the dummies book, do transcender do books also?

no books but they help condense the important points from several other books...

Oh please! Don't use Braindumps. You'll probably get the cert, but you'll never get the Honor! It's what's putting the industry to waste.

Pick up Mark Minasi's Windows 2000 Resource Kit.

It covers 210, 215, 216, etc... and is an excelent resource for the tests AND more importantly for your real life experences.

I have the books on my shelf here at work and they are often of value to me when my brain goes lazy. CJ

minasi is good for real life (also strebe) but exams ain't real life--transcenders are best test-prep... Setnaffa is an MCP-W2K (working on W2K) with a few other certs, too...

Minasi helped me pass the tests... besides wouldn't it be wonderful to actually be able to apply what you learn while studying for your MCSE to real life.

Transcenders rock for test prep, but if your only taking the test to get the piece of paper you are waiting your time.

Like so many things, the journey to your MCSE is far more valuable than the actual piece of paper.

Read the books and take the practice tests, it can only make you better (or sleepy :) CJ

Excuse my ignorance guys, but do you buy these test preps online from transcender.

Appreciate the advice!

I've used transcenders on most of my MCSE NT4 (came with the classroom training)... using it to help focus my studies for 70-216 (The Beast)... bought the last one online... JTB

ecafracs is correct about Transcenders. I took the 70-210 and 70-215 classes that were taught by a gent that worked for MS creating the w2k pro and server os'. This man knew his stuff. He told us that if we used transceneders the way he told us, we would pass the real test first time. Here's his instructions.
1)Transcender comes with 3 tests. Start the first test, stop it at once and print all the awnsers. Read all the questions, and the awnsers along with WHY the awnsers are correct.
2)Take the test a second time. Print only wrong awnsers since you know the ones you got correct. Study the wrong awnsers until you think you understand them.
3)Take the test again, and keep doing this until you get 100% on the test.
4)Take test's two and three using the above instructions. Once you have 100% on all 3 tests, you're understanding of the test will be more than enough to pass.

I've passed 70-210 and 70-215 using the above method. As far as reading materials, check out
