I have been using the Evaluation Edition for some time and now comes the time to buy.
I really really need guidance on what Edition I should buy as it is very very confusing.
Let me explain what is my situation.

I will have a main server somewhere either in the same building or in another building, we will be using Citrix networking.
I intend to use SQL 2005 as my backend database and Visual Foxpro as my frontend.
There will a maximum of 8 users at any given moment of time.
I really dont need anything fancy from the database other than storing data.
I would appreciate if someone can give me a better solution if any for my choice of the frontend.

First, SQL 2005 isn't available yet. It won't be for several months. Right now SQL 2000 is the current version.

If you have a max of 8 users, and you will never have more than 2 GB of data, and you don't need more than 1 GB of RAM, and 2 processors then MSDE will work fine for you. And the best part is it's free. If you need upto 2 GB of RAM, or up to 4 processors you'll need standard edition.

I've got a FAQ that may help you faq962-5153.
