Which software is best for remote backup?

Hi peeps,

Right where do I start, basically I have a server room here with 3 servers as follows

PLUTO -> File server (60gb, approx 100mb change an hour)
NEPTUNE -> File server (140gb, approx 150mb change an hour)
EARTH -> SQL 2005 (30gb uncompressed raw)

Now I also have a server and SAN that is 70+ miles away which has approx 6tb of drive space, what I wish to do is run agents or software here in this server room that will run an hourly (during business hours 8am-6pm) incremental backup.

Ive used a system called Attix 5 as part of an 'online backup' system and that worked great however its not really designed for a single user due to the licensing structure etc, it would seem more suited to an online backup reseller.

What Im after is a bit of software, preferably under £1000 GBP that can handle SQL and files, handle compression and security and run the incrementals between the sites. Current connectivity is a bonded DSL2 line giving 4.4mbs.

Any suggestions? can Backup Exec handle this? we currently have 11d backing up to tape ... All servers are Windows 2003.

There are a number of online backup systems that could do this for you if you purchased them. The one that I know is from Ahsay (

http://www.ahsay.com).

We use this for our online backup service but you can purchase it for end user use from a reseller. It can easily handle the data volumes that you mentioned. We have a number of customers who have online backup requirements greater than this and the software works well for them.
