I have 2 servers. DL380 g1 wich runs on dual 733mhz processors. The other DL580 g1 runs on quad 500mhz.. I'm looking to max out my processing power.. Now that these pentinum III are dirt cheap. Where or how would I find information on compatible processors? I've been searching for days.. Ither compaq's support for these servers are crap or I'm just too dumb to find it. Please help.

Another question is why does the IDE port on my Proliant DL380 not work? I installed a IDE ribbon, with harddrive attached but get nothing??? Do i have to configure this in SmartStart?

IDE hard drives are not supported on Proliant servers. That doesn't mean they won't work however, but I don't think you can configure the server to boot from it as Compaq/HP only support the CD-ROM on the IDE channel
