Which printer should I buy?

Hey Everybody,

I got sick and tired of Epson ripping me off with their R-300, a 6 cartridge printer costing me 120-150 to refill the tanks (and the printer refusing to work even if only ONE cartridge was "empty"), so I just want to get a new printer altogether. However, WHICH printer should I get? I've a budget of about $200 CDN, tax included, I do mostly B/W printing but would like colour capability and most of all want a an issue-free, bs-free printer that ISN'T a scam to sell me overpriced ink.

Apparently Epson and HP are unappealing for the above reasons, nobody likes Lexmark (why?) and I've personally had bad experiences with Canon. What have been your general experiences with consumer-level printer hardware systems? Can anybody comment on or inform me about their best choices for my conundrum? Is there *anything* out there that I won't regret buying?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

I love Lexmark! I have had a 3200 for gwad knows how long and have had no problems with it. But it does have the issue of the cartridges costing as much, or more than, a new printer.

If I was going to buy for myself now I would most likely go for one of the HPs, model depending on my budget (in AUDs).

Thank you,
Granville Westecott
