I have to order a new power supply
How can I tell if I need the one
with PCI Express Connector 1 x 6 pin?
Thank you, cotton

Do you have PCI cards that require extra power? If you do, you need the connector.

Some video cards for instance will require that.

Best way is to look at your current PSU. Does it have the 6-pin connector? And is it plugged to anything? It may have it, but if its not plugged in to anything, chances are you don't need it.

The only thing I would add is that even if you don't need the connector now, I would get a power supply with one. Odds are it isn't going to cost much more and if later down the road you want to replace the video card, you won't have to worry about limiting your search for a model that doesn't require the connection. I see it as cheap insurace. It isn't going to hurt anything to have an extra cable in there.
