I am currently MCP/CCNA/CCNP, but I only have about 2 years of "real world" experience. It seems as though the amount of years is more important than my degree and certifications. It seems as though you're nothing if you don't have at least 5 years under your belt.
My overall goal is to progress into positions of greater responsibilty. My quesion is as follows; Should I simply continue working and "wait" for my total of years to catch up. Or should I pursue even more certifications? I usually believe in certification, but now i'm confused as to which certs are most beneficial. In other words, should I pursue Nortel, Cisco or even RCDD certs?
