hi experts,

Installing 2005 Express with Advanced Services (Reporting Services)

The MS download page says "you must install .NET Framework 2.0"

3.0 and 3.5 Framework is out now. Are they compatible with 2005 Express or does it really have to be 2.0?

Thaks, John

3 should work, but you probably already have 2 installed.

Higher versions of .NET are not in the truest sense of the word an "ugrade". Multiple versions of .NET can happily co-exist on the same server. SQL 2K5 wants .NET 2.0, and it will install it for you, whether you want it to, or not. but, since they can all co-exist, why would you not want it on there?

Multiple versions of .NET can happily coexist." that's what I wanted to know. Thanks

"why would you not want it on there?" Are you talking to ME? I didn't say that I don't want it on there.
