Hi,
I am setting a WRE54G with a Linksys WRT54G router,i only wanna know which MAC address of the WRT54G i have to put.The MAC address located on the Actual router or the LAN MAC address located under the Status of the router?

Because,I have noticed that the MAC address are different, why is that?Aren't they supposed to be the same? Please help.Thanks.

LAN MAC
This is the address seen on the wireless segment, not on the WAN side of the router.

Which address you are referring to,the MAC address located underneath the router or the MAC Address located on the router's Status Page?

But which MAC I have to put on the WRE54G,the MAC located underneath the router or the LAN MAC on the Status page of the router?

Thank you so much Bill.

1. Make sure you have the firmware 2.02.7 or above on the router itself (WRT54G v1,1.1,2)
2. The WEP or WPA should be turned off
3. The SSID Broadcast be enabled and MAC Filtering be disabled
4. Then bring in the wre54g closeby to the router i.e. within 5 feets from the router
5. Press in the reset button on the WRE54G until both the Link and ACT lights turn blue. Release the reset button
6. Then the Link should turn Red, if it stays Blue then its all done other wise, proceed to step 7--->
7. Then press in the Auto Config Button for 20 secs, let go and after a few secs. Link will turn Blue with Act also Blue.

No messing with MAC addresses required this way.
