Hello,

I have to install a Linux Server. I would like to know opinions about the differents Linux: RedHat, SuSe, Mandrake, etc. It would be for Rembo.

Thank you

Who's Rembo??

You get a lot of different personal opinions out of this thread. I like SuSE. The only one that I would never use is RedHat.

like he said personal opinions

sorry but i've always been very happy with Red Hat.

Slackware has been fantastic. (not for a newbie or faint of heart though)

Tried most freely available for download, always seem to go back to RedHat. The install and setup just seems to have that "something" extra the others lack.

But that is very subjective, the others (Suse, Mandrake, etc) are still very good. My opinion is also more based on workstation usage rather than server, I simply like the up2date function and general support offered with packages like Ximian's Red Carpet, and in general the availability of RH specific RPM's which saves building from tarballs. At home the Lucent Winmodem RPM comes to mind. IBM Certified Confused - MQSeries
