I'd setup SCO 5.05 in Dell Latitude C640 sucessfully, would you like to tell me if there are some other types P4 laptop also support SCO 5.05/5.07?
Thanks in advance.

I've got it on a Dell Inspiron 2650 and 8000 series.

I've had it others from Sony and NEC, but those were older models. P133 and PII300.

i am trying to install SCO OSR 5.0.7 on dell inspiron 2650, but no luck. Can not boot from cd, tried to boot with floppy and stuck at:

%kernel -
%cpu
%cpuid
%fpu
%pci
%pcic
%pnp
%clock
%floppy
%console
%kbmouse 00060-0x0064 12 - type=keyboard|ps/2 mouse id=0x
F mdacinit

You will most likely need to disable a number of modules, mdacinit is one of them. There were a few other scsi modules I needed to disable at install.

I remember my install on the 2650 went something like this...
booting....system hangs, write down what it hung at, reboot and specify to disable that module... opps.. hung again... write down what it hung at and kept going.

I think there was 4-5 things I ended up disabling, than it went through the install fine. Never had the issue with it at later boots, just at install time.

Hi Autfol,
Recently released open server 6.0 will install on any
Pentium 4 laptop. You can try starter edition which comes
with a 2 user license.
Sincerely
Hershey
