Which is quicker - dupe by backupid or mediaid?

We currently use bpduplicate -bidfile to make duplicate copies of weekly backups to take offsite. Since we multiplex these backups, would it be quicker use the '-id' option and create the dupe by media ID rather than have to seek out each image file? We use the -mpx tag as well.
