Could anyone give advice as to which e-commerce/shopping cart software to use.
I want to have control of how each individual site developed looks, as e-commerce facilities will often be added to existing sites.

Try QuickEStore. It is licenesed such that if you use it to setup different stores (mall) on the same server, you can use it under one license.

Very configurable and accepts many different credit card processing programs including paypal.

Very easy program to reconfigure. I am a 3rd party customizer for the software and have used it for about 2 years.
