I seem to be having a bit of a problem trying to adentify which driver to downoad for the HP LaserJet 4100TN - looking at the HP Website and selecting the drivers for the printer I am given a range of options to choose from - none of which yell out to me "This is the one that you are looking for"

Does anyone know which one I need..? Although it is working using different drivers it is not recognised as a 4100 TN printer.

Thanks

Selecting the right driver is not allways easy, and sometimes more than one can be needed. In case you print mostly graphics or PDF documents, a PostScript driver will be the best choice. If you however print mostly from Word, Excell and other spreadsheet applications a PCL 5 or 6 will do fine. Main difference between the PCL 5 and 6 is the fact that the PCL 5 only supports up to 600 DPI while the PCL goes as far as 1200 DPI print resolution at the moment. If you want to print a mixture of these, you can install a PCL 6 for both type of jobs or go for two differnt drivers, one for each jobtype. To make the driver recognize the printer as a 4100 TN model, you have to manually in the driver configure the extra tray(s) are installed. In the drivers settings, look for a tab called Configure where the settings can be changed.
