Which CPUs for upgrade of PL 1600 ?

trying the same thing, but see the post on upgrade p2 - p3 for further info on my attempts.
I used only correctly part-numbered p3-600 (the fastest capable) processors and max ram 4 x ECC pc100 256mb (largest capable) HP/compaq supply, as listed in upgradeable options from hp equipment survey for my PL1600 that was originally supplied single processor P2-350.
Be prepared for aggro, it sometimes just doesn't boot, and sometimes would blue screen on windows boot.
I have found that windows 2k blue screen boot, you should try at least one additional reboot before changing anything, this often gets it running after changing config.
