Hi:
I just got a new HP ML370 G4 server. The Internal DAT72 tape backup drive is on the integrated PCIX Dual Channel U320 controller. I will be migrating existing NW 5.1sp8 system over and need to reinstall Backup Exec for Netware 8.5.

Would anyone know how I can get the BE 8.5 to work on this new server? The integrated dual channel U320 controller is not on the list of controllers to choose from, I've tried selecting the following with no success: Compaq 53C876, Compaq 53C825, Compaq 53C710, Other ASPI compatible.

Shall I tried one of the Adaptec controllers? (AHA-152x, 1530P, 154x, 1640, 174x, 2740, 2740A, 2740XT, 2742AT, 2842, 2842A, 291X, 292X, 294X) Or one of the UltraStor's? (14F, 14FB, 24F, 24FA, 34F, 34FA)

I'm trying to avoid having to upgrade to version 10 if I don't have to.

Thanks

Hi
You can install Backup exec like "Other ASPI compatible" and load nwaspi.cdm before starting bestart.ncf, be sure that your drive is connected alone to single port on SCSI controller.

Thank you for your response. I did give that a try and it still didn't pick up my device drive. The device is hooked up to single port but on a dual-channel integrated scsi controller, not sure if that is a factor.
