Which book to use for update from Netware 5 to 6?

Just wondering what book would be the best to use for the update from 5 to 6 exam (050-676)...

This link has two books, i wanted to buy one. Which should I buy?

I like the "Novell's CNE Update to NetWare 6 Study Guide" book, but I'm not sure if it is for the 050-676 exam...

Hi Mark,

I went to the link you provided and scanned through the Table of Contents of the "Novell's CNE Update to NetWare 6 Study Guide" you mentioned. It pretty much looks like the study guide I used for my upgrade.

My boss bought a copy of the study guide on ebay.

A few things you should know:

1. The test was like 66 questions.
2. You could not tag the questions and go back to them later.
3. The test seemed a little tougher than the usual Novell tests. They ask you things like "under which tab would this certain objective be done."
4. Lots of Clustering and Remote Manager questions.

Only 66? luck duck, mine was 78 and I got hit with a bunch of questions on indexing, but yea, a lot had to do with what button on this web page does what kind of thing.

Novell's course 3000 is pretty good, better that most third party. One thing to remember, by now, the student license is expired (don't know what up with that, I just used the demo license on the CD). The practice test is kind of a joke, but the little games they have are usefull. For some good practice tests, check out

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this one a 7 (does not have many questions on clustering or remote managment or indexing) . I just haven't seen one any better.

Hi,

It's been a while so maybe it was more like 70 something questions. I too used the Boson practice tests. I only found one question that was identical but then that's not the point here. The point is getting you ready for the formatting of the test, the kind of questions they ask and most important....how well do you know the material.

I too had indexing questions but most of my questions were on Clustering. Good thing I've worked with it.

My recommendation would be to download all the relevant .pdf files from the novell Netware 6 site, I found that these provided me with all (or nearly all) the information I needed. As mentioned aerlier by other posters, lots on NSS, Clustering, Indexes.

In my opinion a very tough exam, good luck.
