In every previous version of Windows, I can right-click a folder in Windows Explorer and click Search to find a file starting from that directory. I don't see that in Vista. What the hell??

Search in Vista is a different animal compared to previous systems. There is no right-click context menu by design.

Tips for finding files

If you want to have such a context menu, I suppose there are registry edits available. I use Agent Ransack as an additional search engine and that is accessible via a right-click.

Make sure you are Indexing correctly, look at Indexing Options in the Control Panel, this will improve your searching.

Cool, I'll take a look at those when I get some time.
Thanks.
